Do I need to drive to the Beach?
No, it is just a 15 minute walk to the nice little sandy beach at Aughris (in front of Beach Bar). there is a nice looped walk from the house via the Beach Bar that takes 40minutes. Some people like to drive the 5kms to the larger stretch of sand at Dunmoran Strand, others walk between the two beaches.
- Will the house be warm when we arrive in Winter?
Yes we take pride in providing a warm welcome, with the heating on and the stove lit once we know your expected arrival time. It’s what our winter guests like most, then when they arrive the biggest dilemma is whether to head out again to the pub or not..
- Do we have to arrive at a set time?
No, there is a keysafe at the door, and we will email or text you with the code so that you can arrive at any time. We like an estimated time of arrival though so that we can have heating / stove set for you.
- Are Towels Provided?
Regrettably from 1 Oct 2022 we no longer provide towels due to the huge increase in our laundry costs. Towels can be booked at €10 per person per stay payable locally. - Are pets allowed?
Yes pets are welcome. There are tiles / hardwood floors though out so we don’t mind dogs once strictly not in bedrooms. Dogs themselves love the space, the garden and the walks at the beach.

Is the Beach Bar near enough to walk to it?
Absolutely, it is just 10-15 minutes. just long enough to give you an appetite! Another option is to drive around to the pub and leave the car if you have a few too many! Darren at the Beach Bar says that if guests there from one of our houses they will always get them home… If planning a meal at the pub in high season you are advised to book a table in advance as it can be very busy – contact details at house.
- Is the Restaurant open daily?
Yes all year around. Last orders 8pm.

Is there a cafe nearby?
6kms to Gra Bistro in Dromore West, 12kms to Tempo in Ballysadare, 20kms to Strandhill (Shells cafe plus other options). Lots of options in Ballina and Sligo

Does the Beach Bar do Take-Out Meals?
Yes. You can ring your order over. Check their facebook page for daily specials. Lots of our guests with young children do that. We drop the plates back after you leave if you don’t!

Is there WiFi at the house?
Yes there is good WIFI in all properties. Below is a speed test from the main 3bed house, if interested in one of the other properties, ask us to send on a speed test.
- How many people can you accommodate in your Aughris properties.
We can comfortably sleep 31 between the three properties.
Beach House: 10 : (4 bed) – 8, (Annex) -2
Landmark : 14 (3bed) – 8, Cottage -2, Upside Down House – 4
River Cottage: 7 ( 3bed) - Can different groups occupy the different Landmark units at the same time?
Yes all are completely separate. Sometimes all three are booked by the same large group, other times by separate groups. Each have their own separate entrances and patio area, the sunshine , garden and the fresh air are shared!
