Do I need to drive to the Beach?
No, it is just a 15 minute walk to the nice little sandy beach at Aughris (in front of Beach Bar). there is a nice looped walk from the house via the Beach Bar that takes 40 minutes. Some people like to drive the 5kms to the larger stretch of sand at Dunmoran Strand, others walk between the two beaches.
- Will the house be warm when we arrive in Winter?
Yes we take pride in providing a warm welcome, with the heating on and the stove lit once we know your expected arrival time. It’s what our winter guests like most, then when they arrive the biggest dilemma is whether to head out again to the pub or not..
- Do we have to arrive at a set time?
No, there is a keysafe at the door, and we will email or text you with the code so that you can arrive at any time. We like an estimated time of arrival though so that we can have heating / stove set for you.
- Are Towels Provided?
Regrettably we no longer provide towels due to the huge increase in our laundry costs. Towels can be booked at €10 per person per stay payable locally. - Are pets allowed?
Yes of course pets are welcome – pet friendly is our business model.
There are tiles / hardwood floors downstairs so we welcome dogs once strictly not in bedrooms. Dogs themselves love the space, the garden and the walks at the beach.
Is the Beach Bar near enough to walk to it?
Absolutely, it is just 10-15 minutes. just long enough to give you an appetite! The restaurant is open daily, all year around, with last orders 7.45pm.
If planning a meal there in high season you are advised to book a table in advance as it can be very busy . You can also phone over to order food there and take back to the house.

Can you recommend any pet friendly cafes in the area?
6kms to Gra Bistro in Dromore West, 20kms to Ocean Sands in Enniscrone with a pet friendly dining area. 20kms to Strandhill where Blackbird cafe at the former airport lounge also welcomes pets.

Is there WiFi at the house?
Yes there is Fibre broadband.How many people can you accommodate in your Aughris properties.
We can comfortably sleep 25 between the three properties.
